Our story
Rooted into tradition
We are a couple from Italy, our names are Simone and Chiara.
In 2019, we made a very long road trip through all Scandinavian countries, driving from Milan to Nordkapp, with our two dogs.
During that life-changing trip, we completely fell in love with the stunning mountains and fjords of Lofoten Islands. We were blown away by the breath-taking views, and we were amazed by the kindness of the welcoming people of the Islands.
The dream was already clear in our minds: we could picture our future here, so we decided to move.
We went back home, we packed-up everything, left our jobs, said goodbye to friends and families and… A few months later we were back here!

Now, we want to do our best to impart to our guests the same enthusiasm that we felt on our first journey to Lofoten Islands, using the best one of all the possible means: food.
As we are Italians, the food culture is very important to us. We want to share our cuisine knowledge organizing home dining experience, cooking classes, offering a catering service for small events, selling homemade products and bringing our Italian food home to you!
We want you to discover the beauty of Lofoten Islands, taste good dishes and try local organic products.

We strongly believe in the value of community and in the necessity of interaction, that's why we cooperate with local structures and producers to use seasonal and local ingredients. We would like to spread the importance of the local food production and sustainable agriculture.

Our intention comes from the visceral and primary desire of going back to the origins, to the roots.
We want to share our passion and to bring people closer to the seasonality of the products and finally to the ethic of sustainability.
Our view is rooted into tradition, but it is future-oriented.

Simone
Simone is Wild Root's chef and mind. He is really passionate about fresh local food. He loves gardening and growing veggies. He is constantly experimenting in our kitchen with what the local nature has to offer. Simone wishes to bring to your table his love for good simple seasonal ingredients, with super rich and mind-blowing taste! He says he is not super into sweets, but can't keep is fork away from Chiara's tiramisù!
Chiara
Chiara likes to bake cakes and pastries, and she is always looking for new recipes to try out. She likes to go shopping for local ingredients, and is addicted to farmer's markets! Chiara is the #1 fan of Simone's ragù bolognese sauce, and could never be tired of eating tomato sauce meatballs!
